Lughnasadh/Buck or Sturgeon Moon – 2022
Watercolour and acrylic on bamboo paper in a charity shop frame
A little roe deer hopping through the golden corn fields at night which I feel is a common scene that must happen so often unbeknownst to us all and rarely ever observed by humans. Lughnasadh or Lughnasa is a Gaelic festival marking the beginning of the harvest season. Traditionally it is held on 1 August, or about halfway between the summer solstice and autumn equinox.
