This piece is part of my mini collection, a dive into experimentation of techniques while also showcasing the incredible mini beasts we share our local environment with. They are a reminder to slow down and really relish the small joys we come across daily. 

The sweetest little tadpole captured swimming on a splash of beautiful greeny blue pond water. The simplicity of the piece really showcases the beautiful interactions of the watery paint and the solid form of the tadpole. Rarely do we see a tadpole up close in isolation, maybe the last time I did was pond dipping as a child. She feels like she has such a journey ahead of her to become her frog potential, but what joy it is that she is here, in our tiny splash of pond, starting her journey.

I hope this adorable little piece could help us to remember excitement, the excitement of starting - even if there's a long journey ahead, the excitement of new beginnings, the excitement of Spring, the excitement a tadpole must feel swimming round for the very first time.
