Countryfile features Naomi Joy

Naomi Joy, an eco artist based in Wiltshire, was featured on BBC One's Countryfile on the 2nd of November 2025.

The episode was about autumnal woodlands in Wiltshire and featured a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust site called Green Lane Woods. As part of Naomi's current project, "Wild Palette" which is supported with public funding through Arts Council England, she has been researching this site local to her, finding out about rare wildlife or those under threat of extinction. She has also been collecting pigments from the site to turn into handmade paint.

This collaboration meant that when Countryfile came to film, they reached out to film Naomi Joy about her project. She was filmed collected ochre in clay from an empty dug-out pond, grinding a pre-dried pigment down and mixing it with a plant based binder to create a new paint.

She was then filmed adding the finishing touches to her Bechstein's bat painting, a painting that was inspired by Green Lane Woods and their incredible habitat for these rare species.
